Amandine Van Rinsveld, PhD

Amandine Van Rinsveld, PhD, is a Research Associate with the Educational Neuroscience Initiative. Amandine is a cognitive neuroscientist with general research interests for higher-order cognitive processes and their development, more specifically numerical cognition and learning. She completed her doctorate in Psychology at the University of Luxembourg. Her PhD thesis focused on mathematical learning in multilingual individuals. Prior to the PhD, she completed a BS and MS in Psychological Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. Amandine was previously appointed as a postdoc research fellow in cognitive neurosciences at the ULB, where she mainly developed frequency-based electrophysiological approaches to investigate the neural processes of numerosity extraction from visual scenes. The main methodological approaches she used to address her research questions are behavioral and neuropsychological testing as well as neuro-cognitive measurements including fMRI, EEG, and MEG.
