Blair Kaneshiro, PhD
Blair Kaneshiro, PhD, is a Research & Development Associate with the Educational Neuroscience Initiative. Blair completed her doctorate in Computer-Based Music Theory and Acoustics from Stanford, and following that she was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford and Research Scientist at Stanford School of Medicine. Prior to the PhD, she completed a BA and MA in Music and an MS in Electrical Engineering, all from Stanford. Her neuroscience research focuses on auditory and visual processing with an emphasis on multivariate EEG decoding, ecologically valid stimuli, and development of open research tools and datasets. She is very excited to apply these approaches in the context of education research. Blair is also an Adjunct Professor at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, and continues to be an active researcher, mentor, and community organizer in the field of music information retrieval.
