Oliver Sawi, PhD

Oliver Sawi, PhD, is a leading educational neuroscientist and researcher with the Stanford Educational Neuroscience Initiative. Dr. Sawi received his PhD from the University of Connecticut, focusing his research on the development of reading and literacy in school aged children with a particular focus in bilingualism, publishing in esteemed journals such as Cortex, Journal of Cognitive Psychology, and Frontiers in Psychology. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Sawi transitioned to a career in industry, serving as the Director of Data Science at Square Panda, a major Educational Technology company in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, Oliver contributed directly to scaling the data acquisition, analysis, and reporting infrastructure across the suite of Square Panda product offerings.
